The Synthix is a virtual 16 voices analog synthesizer and as it, brings what we can call now standard analog features :

  • Two oscillators with 4 selectable waveforms, Triangle, Saw, Square, Pulse and its dedicated PWM and Ring modulator mode. Additionally, the Triangle and Sawtooth waveforms do have PWM modes. Several waveforms can be selected simultaneously for each of the oscillators.
  • One multimode filter based on the CEM 3320 chip emulation, using our proprietary zero-delay algorithm, providing Self oscillating 12 dB and 24 dB low pass, 6 and 12 dB band pass, and 12 dB high pass modes.
  • Four D-ADSR : an enhanced standard ADSR envelope with a MIDI syncable delay.
  • Four LFOs, including two neverseen LFOS types.
  • Four embedded effects : Delay, Chorus, Phaser, Dual EQs
  • One Multi-track sequencer
  • Several playing modes including A la Moog mono modes and several Polyphonic modes

The Synthix, has every XILS-lab products, brings also some never seen features :

  • The Chaox : an LFO based on fully calculated chaotics functions. real life enters in synthesizers
  • The Rythm : an LFO with uses the Rythm for its main purpose.
  • Guitar modes, Circular and random polyphonic modes

And last but not least, The Synthix is multi-layer and has a polytimbral mode:

  • 8 totaly independant layers (each layer can have its own set of oscillators, filters, envelopes, glide and lfos, with independent settings).
  • 2 keyboards, each with its own independent arpeggiator and MIDI settings management.

Oscillators : 7 available waveforms.

Triangle, PWM Triangle, Saw, PWM Saw, Square, PWM Pulse.

Additionally, the Triangle and Sawtooth waveforms do have PWM modes.

A PWM cross modulation mode and a ring modulator

Several waveforms can be selected simulyaneously for each of the oscillators.

Multimode Filter : Based on an emulation of the CEM 3320 chip, the Synthix multimod filter providing self-oscillating 6 filter types : 12 dB and 24 db low pass, 6 dB and 12 dB band pass, 12 dB high pass .

A special overdrive circuit can be used before or after the filter.

This filter uses our proprietary "zero-delay algorithm" providing a stuning analog feeling.

D-ADSR : 4 special envelopes are available

Added to the standard Attack-Decay-Sustain-Release, the Synthix offers a MIDI synced Delay step.

Usefull for instance, to trig a tempo synced modulation, to open the filter a few milliseconds after the amplifier, giving some plosive effects. A wide range of new sounds can be done with this feature.

Polyphonic LFO : 2 Standard full of features LFOs are provided by the Synthix.

Each LFO can modulate the oscillator pitch and width, the filter frequency and the amplifier level.  It also can be used as a source in the modulation matrix.

The frequency can be synced to the Host application tempo, the modulation can also be reseted by the keyboard or freerunning and a fadein function is available.

Chaox : A special LFO is provided by the Synthix. Real life enters the synthesis.

This module calculates in a 2-D space the movement of a point. Each of the two axis can modulate any of the 132 available destinations. the rate of the modulation, the delay before the modulation is applied can be set.

A smoothing parameter allows to reduce the modulation variation and a chaotic level parameter allow to increase or reduce the chaotic aspect of the movement.

4 chaotic functions can be chosen, Flying Flye, Bow Tie, Rainbow and Butterflye.

Rhythm LFO : An special LFO for Rhythmic effects.

5 modulations are available, each one can be assign to any of the 132 destinations.

The modulation can be delayed and a phase parameter can adjust the start of the cycle.

Octo :a pulse at the 8th part of the cycle.

Hexa :a pulse at the 16th part of the cycle.

Terna : a pulse at the 6th part of the cycle.

Hoover :a rampe at the 16th part of the cycle.

Stutter : 5 little saw at the 16th part of the cycle.

Multi-layer Two keyboards and Guitar mode

The Synthix offers two MIDI keyboards (Upper and Lower) suitable for split and layered instruments, and a special Guitar mode.

Each keyboard has its own independent MIDI chanel, split point parameters, unison and playing mode, as well as a simple but powerful arpeggiator.

Each keyboard can contain up to 16 voices, freely chosen, for the full use of the Synthix multi-layer features.

The Synthix offers up to 16 voices of polyphony, by groupe of two voices (1-9, 2-10, 3-11, ...), for a full independant 8 layers management.

Guitar Mode : The Synthix provides a specific voices/layers management, offering a new tools for guitar players.

For up to 6 MIDI chanels, two voices can be assigned.

In that way, thanks to a Guitar to MIDI converter, playing various sounds with each of the Guitar strings has never been easier.

This feature can be easily used by drum players as well, by connecting MIDI pads to these entries.
