XILS 3 1.5.0 Import/Export Bank doesn't do anything :-(

I have the same problem. I can't import/export on Xils LE 1.0.81.
I installed 1.0.71 to succesfully import a bank, but when i update again to 1.0.81 the bank has dissapeared!
Any news on this problem?

Hi,
About the import bug with the 1.0.8 I didn't make any progress.

Anyway you should keep the bank imported with the 1.0.7, but for this, you need to choose the same folder during the both install.

As the 1.0.8 changed its default folder, maybe this is the problem.

Anyway, I will have some time to look to this issue now.

Hi All,

I uploaded a new patch for this issue :

It is not really a fix, as I still didn't yet understand what happens, but maybe a good workaround for the 32 bits version : I simply load the old .dll which is working (the same used for the previous XILS 3 version) if the new one fails to be load.

So you will need to launch the 32 bits version to load your bank, but it is easier than installing the 1.0.71 !

Anyway I'm still looking at this issue !

Please note that the exact same problem with importing/exporting banks also exists in other XILS-lab plugins. Same goes for the new released Oxium synth..

So I really hope that you will be able to find the reason behind this and fix it eventually.

I was aware than this should be the case with all the new version of all Xils-lab plug-ins, excepted Oxium.
I though the workaround I found for the XILS 3 LE (1.0.82) was working at least for 32 bits version, so I included it in Oxium.

But an other customers got also this issue with Oxium, so I'm still back puzzle !

Anyway, like every software problems, there is always a solution ! Mos of the time it comes when you even don't look for it, working on an other side.

I will keep you tuned but feel free to post any idea or related links if you ever read something.
But don't waste your time, it's my job.

I'm not sure how it works, but the problem wasn't there in the old XILS 3 LE version(s) so there must be something different (changed) since then.. Also, may I ask why your plugins have to rely on this separate external dll file for the importing and exporting of banks? I'm curious about that because most other software plugins do not, as far as I know. So there might be even a solution that uses a different approach to start up a Windows file browser

What changed : I built a new dll, using a new version of Visual C++ to get a 32 and a 64 bits version (but using the same code ! )
But it seems that the old one is not working for every body !

Why did I choose to build an external dll : because the other way is to ask the Host to give a browser windows. I don't like to be linked to something I can't manage, and I read that some plug-ins getting this external browser windows didn't work fine with some host.

Maybe all these issues are now fixed (all the actual host should take this into account) but I'm not sure.

Using this home made .dll prevents me for any "external" bugs. But Now, I must find my "internal" bug !! otherwise I will have come back to asking the host for the browser windows !
