[Solved] Filter Level Knob non-functional?

Using XILS LE.

Setup the patch: Noise to Filter signal input, then Filter output to Outs 1&2. Turn Filter Frequency up all the way, to pass all frequencies.

Now, turn the Filter Level knob up and down. It should make the audio output of the Filter increase and decrease, right? But, it has no effect.

PS: I tried searching to see if this had been covered already but searching for "filter level" only produced this message from the board:

Could someone else please verify this?

I am not a noob to synths or music tech in general, although I've been using the XILS-3 for only a couple weeks. I think that either:

A) the Filter Level knob is broken (does nothing) or
B) it has an intended function that I do not understand.

I know it's an old post, but I also get the behavior you mention. I figured that it might add some sort of saturation to the sound and that the level difference is automatically evened out/compensated for, but that doesn't seem to be true either. So the question remains: what is the function of this knob? Does it do anything when routed in a certain way? Xavier?

Hello Xavier,

i Installed and registered the Xils SE Beat Edition a couple of hours ago. I´ve played around with Xils-3 and recognized that the Filter Level Knob has no function. I liked to Upgrade to Xils-3 or Xils LE but this "non functional knob" seems to my like a heavy BUG.

Do I something wrong? Is it a feature Limitation of the Beat Edition? Why get this Topic until now still unanswered?

I'm really sorry not to have addressed this issue before.
It is not a "love" question : the XILS 3 is my first plug-in and I'm still looking at it with a lot of feelings.
But time is always too short and new products must be released too often.

BUT during the incoming year, you should see something that Peter Zinovieff has just commented with a "AMAZING IDEA!!!!"

I understand how it goes sometimes - we can't always work on the things we love the most!

Please have a look at the XILS 3 and clean up this filter level knob bug, and the couple of other bugs that people have mentioned. Just a little update now and then goes a long way!

Can you give a hint about the "AMAZING IDEA" for the incoming year? Is it about the XILS 3, or a different project?

The filter knob bug is fixed, but the current available beta doesn't recall it correctly when loading a preset.
It will be available within the next build (uploaded in a day or two)

It's about the XILS 3 .....
It's a big update for the XILS 3 ....
It will be an independent plug-in to avoid preset/project compatibility (but XILS 3 presets and banks will be launch as close as possible)
The name should be XILS y (y is a number)

But don't forget, not available before next year !
