I can see only one advantage to the sequencer grid not snapping to tuned pitches, and that is being able to make out of tune sequences... I'd happily trade that "feature" in for being able to drag the notes to a different (quantized/in tune) pitch in the grid editor. We already have the drift parameter knob, doesn't that fill the out of tune needs?
The drift is global, while in the Sequencer you can choose wich note is affected by the pitch drift. A way to avoid that is to play the sequences in real time from a midi keyboard.
A Snap to grid, wich would only apply to vertical quantize, might be the solution. so a Snap button, and when its lit/active, clicking on a note would quantize it to perfect nearest pitch.
What do you guys think ?
