what synths may we possibly expect in future ?

Update: This is a bit of a digression in this topic, perhaps, but I've uploaded the piece I mentioned in my last post.

It's Estuary, number 42 in the player on my site at http://sweep.infinite9ths.com

I edited and multitracked Xavier's bird sounds generated from the new synth. The bulk of the track, though it sounds orchestral, is the XILS 3 processed through a Lexicon MPX550.

Wow,

The first new synth sound in a real composition ! Thanks sweep.
Furthermore I like this piece a lot : very quite and refreshing (like birds in a wonderful landscape) !

Best regards

My guess is Elka Synthex. Listen to the birds at the beginning of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVKLTINBJMo

Sounds somewhat familiar...

Interesting. I'll check out your link now, but I've been suspecting the Synthex for a while as well.

After listening to the YouTube link:

Yes, well spotted. It may of course be possible to do something similar with a range of synths, but the Synthex clearly does it, and it's a glaring omission in the available software synth emulations so it would make sense to do it.

Actually when Xavier first dropped a hint about the interesting filters I immediately checked out the specs for the Synthex to see if that would apply, so it looks like you and I have been thinking along similar lines. Did you happen to notice the Synthex similarity by pure chance, or had you been suspecting something to start with?

Of course we could be completely wrong and it's going to be a Doepfer modular or something, but I'm pleased to find someone else thinking along the same lines I've been on with this.

Sweep,
In reference to the upcoming product, the facebook page says:
"we will be more public soon...EXpect more information Shortly"

The capital "EX" and "S" could be hinting at "SynthEX" (though it could mean "SEX", but I hope not...). It's this latest clue that really got me thinking and then the coincidental YouTube video.

Ingenius, if you're right. I certainly wouldn't have spotted that.

Actually someone asked about the Synthex in this forum not too long ago and received no reply, and that made me wonder if there might be something in it.

But whatever it is, even if it turns out not to be the Synthex, I'm sure it's going to be good, from past experience with Xavier's software.

Very clever, I think you may have hit the spot here :)

I'd REALLY like to see a Rhodes Chroma added. It would fit in well with the slightly oddball synths XILS has been creating and is absolutely gorgeous sounding. So please, for all that is sacred, make that next!
